Our services

Three things we do, everywhere we work

  • Mental health counselling

Professional counselling and therapy addressing depression, anxiety and trauma, fostering mental wellness among young people.

  • Substance abuse prevention

Programmes that prevent drug abuse through education, awareness and community engagement.

  • Support groups

Support groups for substance abuse recovery, offering a safe space for sharing and mutual support.

Where the work actually happens

Six programmes reaching young people in schools, communities, on the street, over the radio and in Kakuma Refugee Camp.

Refugee camp mental health and substance abuse campaign

We partner with local organisations and Aspira Integrated Healthcare to deliver mental health counselling, substance abuse education and recreational therapy in Kakuma Refugee Camp. Our work includes outreach sessions, peer support groups, health tracking through electronic medical records, and sports-based healing, all designed to build resilience in displaced communities facing trauma and limited resources.

School outreach for mental health and substance abuse

We visit schools to educate students about mental health, the dangers of substance abuse, and ways to seek help. These sessions create a safe environment where students can share their concerns and learn coping strategies.

  • Community outreach and workshops

We run workshops and mental health awareness campaigns in local communities. The programme brings in professionals, creates safe spaces for discussion, and provides resources for substance abuse prevention.

  • Peer counselling and support network

A peer-to-peer programme where trained young people from the community offer counselling, mentorship and emotional support to peers dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues.

  • Radio programme: mental health awareness show

Our weekly show on Radio Simba, known as Mental Wednesday, discusses mental health and substance abuse and shares wellness tips. The programme features guest speakers, question and answer sessions, and practical resources for the community.

  • Street outreach programme

Our street programmes reach marginalised and at-risk young people, providing resources, support and counselling services. Regular sessions raise awareness and encourage healthier lives within the community.
